The Private Press is a contemporary screen printing studio, passionate about the endless possibilities of creative screen printing. We specialise in printing fine art editions for artists, designers and illustrators.

We work on a wide range of projects, from complex multi-colour prints to simple, graphic posters. But every job is approached in the same way: with a careful eye for detail and a true love for the process. We love to immerse ourselves in the detail of each project, collaborating closely with our clients.

On press, our approach is meticulous to ensure that every print is of the highest quality. We take the time to get the very best from an artwork, offering advice on ink, paper and the most suitable techniques available to achieve outstanding results.

We have printed work by: David Shrigley, Yoko Ono, Joe Lycett, Stanley Donwood, Anthony Burrill, Jeremy Deller, Pure Evil, Sanna Annukka, Paul Insect, Hot Chip, Morag Myerscough, Rose Blake, Gilles Peterson, Magda Archer, Joe Strummer, Eike Konig, Boy George, The Chemical Brothers, Eelus, The National Theatre.

We are one of few modern studios dedicated only to screen printing. We love to work with specialist inks such as fluorescent, metallics, pearlescent, interference and glow inks. We also work with gloss varnishes, diamond dust, glitter, and gold leaf. We use water-based inks, and will always choose the most environmentally friendly papers.

We are proud to say work we have printed has appeared in the Design Museum, the Royal Academy and the Saatchi Gallery, and in galleries around the world.

The studio is managed and run by Creative Director Gary Parselle, who has more than 15 years of screen printing experience and looks after every stage of the printmaking process in the studio, from initial consultation through to printing each print by hand.

Before setting up the studio, Gary worked extensively in some of London's most renowned graphic design and advertising agencies where he specialised in print production, gaining in-depth knowledge of print and paper, which continues to inform the work of The Private Press.
