Jerzy Treutler / Projekt 26 - Circus Poodles
A brand new collaboration with Projekt 26, art dealers with a huge archive and knowledge of the Polish School of Posters.
This print is a reproduction of Jerzy Treutler's original poster from 1973. We spent time carefully making colour separations in Photoshop from a high res scan of the original poster, which we continually referred to in the selection of paper and inks.
We mixed the colours to ensure a perfect match to the original, with colour references kindly supplied by Treutler's estate. The colours work beautifully together, and extra care was taken with the black to not make it too opaque and so a little of the pink tone is visible underneath, just like the original.
The print measures 50x70cm and is printed onto GF Smith’s Colorplan Bright White 270gsm, a beautiful white uncoated paper which again takes it cue from the original.
All prints are embossed with and numbered in an edition of 35.
The original 'Circus Poodles' poster was designed by Jerzy Treutler in 1973 for the Ministry of Arts and Culture in the Polish People's Republic. It was printed B1 size (68 x 98 cm which was the standard size for Polish circus posters) in a strict run of 6000 to be pasted up in towns and cities to announce the imminent arrival of the State Circus. The Circus Poodles are one of Treutler's best-known designs and it is becoming increasingly rare and collectable.
This print is fully authorised by the estate of Jerzy Treutler. Read more about Jerzy Treutler and his work here.
This print ships w/c 31st October.
All prints are sent carefully wrapped and packed in a strong postal tube. We aim to despatch prints within 3 days of receiving your order. Orders shipping to the EU and around the world may be subject to a customs fee, for which the sender is not liable. If you have any questions about any aspect of your order please email us.
